If you missed Tempo Live this past weekend, we’ve got one thing to say: you seriously missed out. But don’t worry, we’ve got the full scoop on what went down at one of the coolest events to ever hit Toronto’s STACKT Market.
Picture this: the sounds of hip-hop, a buzzing crowd of fans, artists, and hoopers vibing under the sun. Tempo Live was more than just a fan event, it was a celebration of basketball culture, creativity, and the one-year countdown to Toronto’s very own WNBA team tipping off!
Tempo Talks
Toronto showed out at Tempo Live, the ultimate celebration of basketball, art, community and the countdown to our very own WNBA team. Held at the vibrant Stackt Market, the day kicked off with Tempo Talks, a dynamic series of curated panels that explored how basketball is deeply connected to culture. From street art to music to bites, we heard from local creators, music producers, and foodies who lit up the stage with stories, insights, and straight-up passion. It wasn’t just talk, it was a reminder that basketball is culture in this city.
Fan Camp Fun
If you followed the music and the glitter, you’d land at Fan Camp, one of the day’s many attractions. People of all ages got crafty with custom pennant sign making, pulling out bold colours and personal flair. And yes, there airbrush tattoo station. These temporary tats may fade, but the memories? Forever.
One of the most meaningful moments? Fans got to sign a massive banner that will live on in the Coca-Cola Coliseum, the future home of Toronto’s WNBA team. It was a beautiful, shared love letter to the future of the game in our city. It’s already clear: Toronto’s fans are ready and waiting.
Live Art & Open Court Energy
What’s better than watching a game? Watching artists paint, sketch, and spray their love of basketball right in front of your eyes. Live art installations were stationed throughout the event, bringing to life the tempo of Toronto. You could feel creativity in the air.
And let’s talk about the Open Court. Whether you were putting up shots, getting inspired by youth basketball demos, or simply vibing from the sidelines, the energy was contagious. It was pure joy watching the next generation of hoopers showing out in front of such a hyped crowd.
Merch Drop Madness
Let’s be real, no basketball event is complete without some fresh merch. The Tempo pop-up shop was buzzing with pieces from local and game-inspired brands. From tees to basketball planters, it was the place to gear up and show love to the culture, the city, and the team before they even hit the hardwood.
One Year to Go
The hype is real. We are officially one year away from tip-off, and Tempo Live proved that Toronto is more than ready. The vibes were immaculate, the support unmatched, and the excitement through the roof.
We’re building something special here. A team. A community. A movement.
